Update!

Chris and I went to see the doctor today to see what she would say about our ultrasound last week. We were thinking that she would definitely move up the due date since Mady is measuring big.

Well...she did not! She stated that Madelynne (MK or Mady) was measuring right on target up until this past month, so she's keeping our due date April 1st. She is now estimating MK to be 10lbs and 24 inches long. People, that's a two foot baby! That's crazy! She stated that they will not induce until at least 39 weeks, so if she's coming early, she'll have to come on her own! (Let's hope she comes early...I'm hoping for mid-March...a Pieces baby!!

She does not believe that she will be a chunky baby, she believes she will be really long and really skinny. We'll just have to wait and see.

My sister-in-law, Shannon, and I have changed the shower date just in case MK comes early. We had initially planned for March 6th, but are a little nervous about keeping it on that date, so the only other available day we had open as Sunday, February 14th. I know that it is Valentines Day, but it's the only day that worked. I have prenatal classes to take the other weekends/along with work. My work baby shower is being held on February, 13th...so it will be a weekend of baby showers for me!

Here is what thebump.com says about MK this month...
Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments.

We were also talked to about the possibility of c-section. With a LGA (large for gestational age) baby, you are more likely to deliver by cesarean. It all depends on her shoulder width. If her shoulders cannot fit through my pelvis, it could fracture her little collarbone. Collarbone fractures in newborns can cause paralysis of the arm. So, we're planning on trying to deliver naturally, but if that doesn't work, we will be delivering her via cesarean. So, I might not have to push her out. :) I'm not opposed to trying though, since it's my first time.

Either way- It's like a few hours of sucky and then it's over...no big deal either way! (I mean, having a kid is a big deal, but don't get scared of pushing or c-section.)

Ashley's scar is so tiny and yeah- pushing out a large baby was not fun but compared to 9 months of carrying him- the delivery was easy! Yes, your lady parts get traumatized, but whatever...it's over before you know it.

Let me tell you Tiffany, pushing isn't so bad, as long as it isn't for two hours (like I had to)! Like Ashley's scar, mine is only about 4 in. long and you can't even see it in a bikini bottom, or your chonies for that matter.

When you mention delivering naturally, do you mean vaginally or without medication??

I wanted to deliver naturally and was kind of disappointed I didn't, but it wasn't all that bad. To be honest it was really quick doing it by c-section, those boys were out in just minutes and when Rob & I decided to do the c-section I didn't have to do a thing but be excited...it was kind of nice!!

And like Sarah said my scar is way tiny and very clean & straight..still not excited about wearing a bikini just yet, but if and when I do, the suit will cover it up and if it doesn't that's fine to b/c you can hardly even see it!

Either way you'll do great! You know your body best and they'll know and do what's best for Miss M :o) My best advice is to listen to your body, I knew I needed the c-section and I was right- Lincoln was turning and I would have had to have one anyways once they figured out that he had moved. So no worries it'll be great!!

It's getting so close and I'm so excited for you!!! Yay for BIG baby!!!

I'm not sure how I missed this post but I can't believe they didn't move the due date!!! She is going to be such a big girl! I'm still glad we moved the shower because I have faith that little Mady is going to be a good girl and come a little early. :) Love you!
