Where did February Go?!

Wow! It's almost been a month since I've updated this blog! A lot has happened since I last posted.

On Sunday, January 31st, I was involved in a car accident...NO FUN! I was on my lunch break from work when I was stopped at a stop light and a truck hit me from behind going approximately 45 MPH. I was pushed two lanes into the intersection where I came to a stop. I was taken to the emergency room via ambulance just to make sure nothing was wrong with Madelynne. We spent 1 hour in the emergency room and an additional 4 hours in the Labor and Delivery are being monitored for fetal movement and heart rate. I had my blood checked to ensure that Madelynne wasn't stressed and that my placenta hadn't torn. We checked out okay - I walked away with a bruise and burn on my left bicep, and very bruised shins. My left shin looked and felt as if someone had taken a baseball bat to it.

That next week I spent time on the phone with insurance companies trying to figure out who would be paying for the accident and my medical bills. Turns out the 17 year old kid that hit me, didn't have enough insurance to cover the cost of my car (it was totalled) so my insurance is covering everything.

That next weekend, February 6th and 7th, Chris and I moved to our new house. I love this house! It's 1,200 square feet smaller than our previous house!! WOO HOO! We now live in the mountains of Estrella Park! It's a little farther from Tempe/Chandler, but it's beautiful up here!

Monday, February 8th, I celebrated my 27th birthday! I am officially in my "late twenties". My mom, and dad came over to the new house with Greg and Shannon and made a delicious dinner for me! :) Biscuits and Gravy - MY FAVORITE! It was great to hang out with them for the evening. Chris got me two tickets to see Mary Poppins for February 18th.

On February 9th, we bought a new vehicle. A white 2009 Honda CR-V. We had a black 2008 CR-V...so it was a little upgrade. :) Newer car, less mileage...cooler color for the summer months.

We went to a doctors appointment on the 12th to check my weight and my belly measurement. All seemed well - except that I had gained 5 lbs in two weeks. I then showed my doctor my incredibly swollen ankles when she said, "There's the 5 pounds!" and requested that she check my urine and have me come back in a week. Urine check out great!

The weekend of the 13th and 14th was the weekend of my baby showers! I was thrown two amazing showers! The first one was thrown by some great friends from work and the second was thrown by my sister-in-law and mom. I had such a great time spending my weekend with my friends. They were all so generous too! We've got some CUTE clothes for Madelynne along with a lot of other cool stuff to play with!

We went to the doctor again this past Friday, where I had lost 2 lbs (WOO HOO). Urine still checked out good, so we're now back to every two weeks. Our next appointment is the 5th of March. On the 12th of March, we will be having another ultrasound (as long as Mady's still cookin) and we should then have a good feeling of when she will arrive.

We also took a Breastfeeding Class and a Prepared Child Birth Class this month! We're ready to go!

That's been my month! Hectic, but great!

I can't wait to see what the next month has in it's wings for me! Will we finally get to meet Madelynne...or will we have to wait longer? I don't know, but I'm excited to find out!

Take my poll on the right side of the screen to let me know when you think Mady will arrive!

Boo about the car accident, yeah for the new car and insurance covering it! I am so glad you and Madelynne are ok!! And new homes are exciting and fun!!

Aren't swollen ankles just so incredibly sexy?! ha ha Mine were way swollen at the end--my theory is that it means a baby is coming soon :o)

Your babyshower was lots of fun! Playing and looking at your baby stuff is so much fun! Haven't decided when she's going to be here just yet but I'll vote soon!!

I agree with Ashley, you're shower was fun! As far as swollen ankles are concerned, although I didn't have them while I was pregnant...I did have them AFTER Evan was born, for about a week. :( Boo!!!

hope you are not too miserable these last few weeks. I pretty much thought I was going to have to be checked into a mental facility...ugh

CRV's are awesome. I love ours and the back is so perfect for getting the stroller in and out. You will love it even more.
